About

Our story

Tugboats & Dolphins is a Plymouth-based Community Interest Company built on the belief that fundraising should be anything but ordinary. Since 2021, we've raised more than £80,000 for charity through endurance challenges, community events, sports festivals, fight nights, and a few wild ideas along the way. We exist to inspire people, support great causes, and prove that changing lives can be both meaningful and memorable.

Meet the Team

Mike 'Dunzo' Dunn
Founder & Director

Mike is the founder of Tugboats & Dolphins and the man responsible for turning a lockdown WhatsApp group into a charity fundraising movement. A serving Royal Marine with 13 years of service, Mike originally brought friends together for cold-water swims during lockdown before realising those same challenges could be used to make a real difference for people in need.

Since then, he's been the driving force behind our biggest adventures, including cycling to Spain, and Budapest, countless endurance challenges, and more ambitious ideas than most sensible people would ever consider. Known for his leadership, planning skills, relentless enthusiasm, and surprisingly passionate dishwashing abilities, Mike continues to push Tugboats & Dolphins forward one challenge at a time.

Oh, and the moustache deserves its own postcode.

Jordan Kelevra
Director

Jordan joined Tugboats & Dolphins over two years ago after discovering a shared passion for helping good causes through increasingly questionable physical challenges. A military veteran, project manager, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitor, he brings a mix of organisation, determination, and controlled chaos to the team.

While completing the Plymouth to Santander cycle challenge remains a personal highlight, Jord is most proud of the impact Tugs has on the community. From planning large-scale events and securing sponsorships to managing operations, volunteers, logistics, and fundraising, he's involved in just about everything. His philosophy is simple: if it's wild, weird, or sounds impossible, it's probably worth trying.

Known for his inability to sit still, and a well-documented appreciation for Guinness, Jord has often been described as a budget Aquaman. Whether that's a compliment remains up for debate.

Tandi
The Queen

Tandi has been part of TB&D from the beginning and is the creative force behind much of what people see. From social media and design, to capturing the story behind our events, she plays a vital role in bringing the Tugs brand to life.

While the boys are usually busy dreaming up increasingly ridiculous challenges, Tandi is the voice of reason tasked with reminding them that not every idea is a good one. Responsible for keeping the team's feet on the ground, she somehow manages to turn chaos into content.

A BJJ enthusiast and producer of some truly baffling noises, Tandi proudly holds the title of the team's weirdest human. More importantly, she's the glue that holds everything together and the reason many of our ideas make it beyond the drawing board.
